Da Nang Passes Resolution Supporting Fishermen for Sustainable Fisheries, Combating IUU

The Da Nang City People's Council recently passed Resolution No. 01/2026 on February 11, marking an important step in supporting local fishermen in developing sustainable fisheries. This document not only empowers fishermen to venture out to sea but also demonstrates the determination to build a modern, responsible, and long-term sustainable seafood industry.

The resolution focuses on practical support policies to help fishermen feel secure while staying at sea, while also aligning with the goal of combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. This is part of the city's broader effort to protect marine resources, ensure a clean marine environment, and sustainably develop the blue economy for future generations.

With these new policies, Da Nang hopes to create a new look for local fisheries, not only improving fishermen's livelihoods but also contributing to protecting national maritime sovereignty. For tourists and local residents, this also means that seafood products will become increasingly high-quality and sustainable, boosting culinary tourism and marine experiences in this livable city.
