National Biotechnology Conference 2026 Opens in Da Nang

On the morning of August 8, at Dong A University (Da Nang), the 2026 National Scientific Conference on Biotechnology officially opened, attracting nearly 400 professors, scientists, and experts from various provinces across the country and internationally. The event is hosted by Da Nang City, with the attendance of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu.

The conference serves as an important forum for scientists to share research findings, exchange experiences, and propose solutions for applying biotechnology across various fields. A highlight of this year's program is the in-depth discussion sessions on connecting biotechnology research with the development of medicinal herbs, particularly the Ngoc Linh ginseng – a precious ginseng species with high economic and medicinal value, currently being prioritized for development in the Central Highlands – Central Vietnam region.

For visitors and residents of Da Nang, the conference not only holds scientific significance but also contributes to promoting the local potential for medicinal herb research and development. Earlier, city leaders also conducted a survey of the Ngoc Linh ginseng growing area in Tra Linh, demonstrating special interest in this medicinal plant. The event also offers visitors an opportunity to learn more about the journey of exploring the Ngoc Linh ginseng region amid the vast forest, a unique nature experience when visiting Central Vietnam.
