Da Nang Boosts Direct Flights with Japan from Late 2026
Japan continues to be one of the most important international tourist markets for Da Nang tourism. In the first half of 2026, Japanese visitors accounted for about 3.66% of the total foreign tourists to the city, and this figure rose to 3.93% in July. To meet the growing travel demand, the network of direct flights between Da Nang and Japan will be significantly expanded in the coming period.
According to the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, Vietjet Air will officially operate the new Da Nang – Osaka (Kansai) route from December 20, 2026, with a frequency of 4 flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flight VJ922 departs from Da Nang at 02:30 and lands in Osaka at 08:50; on the return leg, flight VJ923 leaves Osaka at 10:10 and arrives in Da Nang at 13:45. Earlier, from July 1, 2026, Vietnam Airlines also increased its operating frequency on routes to Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka, raising the current total of direct flights to 11 per week to Tokyo and 5 per week to Osaka.
When the new routes go into operation as planned, the total number of direct flights between Da Nang and Japan will reach about 20 per week. This not only gives travelers more airline choices and flexible schedules, but also makes connections between Da Nang and Tokyo, Osaka, and surrounding areas more convenient than ever. With its advantages of beaches, cultural heritage, cuisine, golf courses, and diverse entertainment tourism products, Da Nang expects to attract even more Japanese tourists during the peak season of late 2026 and throughout 2027.
