Starfish Seafood Restaurants - Breakfast - Coffee & Brunch

By far the worst dining experience we’ve had in over three weeks in Vietnam. We waited over an hour for the seafood platter after an initial mistake with our order and being told that some items weren’t available. When it finally arrived, several elements were missing. After questioning it, the platter was taken back and returned about 10 minutes later — only to be flavourless and bland. Some of our drinks were also forgotten, and to top it all off, a large rat jumped out of a bush approximately 1.5 metres from us while we were waiting for our food. The beach views are great and it might be a nice spot for a drink, but with so many other fantastic restaurants around, I’d definitely skip this place for food. 1.4 million VND later, and we were still left with a very bad taste in our mouths. Very disappointing.

Lovely setting, friendly service & relaxed atmosphere. Amazing fish, especially the Red Snapper, but the sauce let it down a little.

Bediening was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Eten was echt een 10 en betaalbaar. Hartstikke mooie plek! Zeker een aanrader!

The food was amazing with an incredible view of the beach, and I’m sure it’d be even better during the day. I really recommend trying the seafood dishes and if anything isn’t to your liking, to request for them to change the sauce to a Vietnamese style. We did that with the grilled oysters and it turned out so good! All the seafood was very fresh, and our favourite dishes were the seafood spring roll and the fried prawns with salt and green pepper. Some of the best seafood in Hoi An! The only downside is we came during dinner time and there was blaring karaoke happening upstairs. It was quite obnoxious and ruined the atmosphere, but the food was still enjoyable nonetheless. I’d recommend to come when there is no karaoke or live music ongoing, maybe during the sunset instead.

Nice place on the beach, however... We weren’t planning to have food, so before sitting down we asked whether we had to pay for the sunbeds and how much. The lady told us we can't have beds if we don't order anything. I specifically asked if ordering drinks would be enough, and she clearly said yes. A while later, she came back and told us we had to order lunch or pay 55,000 VND per sunbed. The amount isn’t the issue—the problem is that we were given completely different information after we had already sat down. We then decided to order French fries and a smoothie, which cost more than the 110k that two sunbeds would have cost, but we were still told we had to pay for one sunbed because it was “only one meal.” At that point, it felt like the rules were being changed to make us spend more money, we paid for our cola and left. There are several other places on the same beach where we had no issues at all and were never pressured into ordering food or paying extra for the sunbeds.

Sam è fantastica!! In questo posto l'atmosfera è rilassata, sono tutti gentili e accoglienti, e ti senti coccolata da tutto lo staff. Cibo ottimo, soprattutto i noodles al granchio!!
